Unfortunately at Staines we are unable to run official sailing courses (although the regular sailors will always be willing to share their knowledge). We can however advise you on the best place to go to whether it’s to learn how to sail or to improve your skills.
Staines SC is closely related to WAG, a voluntary youth group. WAG runs a number of activities of which one is sailing. Although courses are aimed at youngsters, adults are also accepted if space is available. Courses are run at Littleton Lake on Tuesday evenings during the summer months.
WAG is affiliated to the Surrey Schools Sailing Association.
The SSSA, like WAG, is a voluntarily run organisation and its
object is to encourage and develop sailing among the school children
and students of Surrey and the London Boroughs of Croydon, Kingston,
Merton, Richmond and Sutton. The SSSA runs a number of regattas
during the year and youngsters who have sailed with WAG and achieved
a stage 2 or above may race, either in their own boats or WAG's own.
